Bonnets and Helmets in WSS?

Post by modartis » Mon Dec 08, 2008 10:32 pm

I believe that at least some of the Imperial Cuirassier wore Iron helmets during WSS. I've noted that OG 10mm have some infantry and mounted in bonnets.

Were bonnets and iron helmets widespread or limited?

I've stupidly gone on holiday without my WSS sources. I knew I'd left something out; money, sun tan lotion, WSS uniform guides.

Unsure what you mean by "bonnet". As for helmets, used by Imperial and Bavarian cuirassier at least early in the war. There might have been a few others.

I thought initially they might be in a Scots' bonnet, but that would be very obscure (Kilikrankie maybe?), but having looked at the list my guess is they are most likely French dragoons in cloth caps, such as these guys (with credit to Fronk Rank!)

Hi

Thanks for the Info. I'd missed the fact that Bavarians had those pot helmets.

I'm going to launch into WSS using 10mm Old Glory figures and OG have figures (infantry and cavalry) in bonnets. That is what stimulated my enquiry.

Cheers

Neil
