Excellent! That's a really nice figure and full of detail.
What are you going to do next?

Dan,
You're right about the archive. Something similar to what you have done with the Great Northern War and Scanian War would be an advantage. If everyone made the effort to add what they know it would soon build up into a good reference source. It wouldn't matter if it was only small pieces of information on uniforms. orders of battle, etc it would help. What do you think?

Would be good to see a comparison against another range...

KEEP GOING!!!!!
Comparrison pics would be useful as Mark's Back of Beyond figures are quite large compared to other manufacturers, especially his horses.

Cheers

Cheers everyone,
I am very enthused now about doing a whole range.

To answer some specifics;

huevans07; I don't use dollies so far, this guy was made from scratch. However I reckon if I do a range I'll do, say, a marching pose on which I can add heads and arms so that while the figures are in the same pose there are 4 to 6 slight variants. I suppose that's standard practice now in good 28mm ranges.

Here's a comparison pic with a perry Frenchman (which I imagine nearly everyone must have by now!) I bought myself a box on the basis that I could probably learn as much about proportion from studying them as I could from any book. Still I didn't get it quite right, his head's a bit too big. Putting him next to a Perry figure is damn harsh comparison though
I don't have any of copplestone figures, of any kind, so I can't say how well they fit.

It's ok if his head is a bit too big, he's French!

I think he's spot on :D

Anyway, Officers get fed better than the men, even on campaign

Keep up the great work.

No, your guy's okay. He doesn't look out of proportion.

That looks excellent!. Having sized up a Copplestone and a Perry plastic figure together (different ranges but a reasonable QandD approximation) I would estimate that your boys will be almost spot on for size with Copplestones figures.

Nothing is certain yet, but its looking like I might be doing a whole range in the near future; talks are in progress.

Keep your fingers crossed!

Good news; the project is going ahead, I'll have to check how much I can reveal over the next few weeks, but work has started on the dollies today!
