Thanks Ray, much appreciated, although by this time these regiments were on the English establishment and had blue facings...
While still on the Scottish establishment most units had white facings with some being awarded yellow as a mark of distinction, at least by James VII.
(Artillery and Fusiliers had red facings)
Claverhouse's Horse are noted as having been granted yellow facings and 'the trumpeter to wear my colours'?
I interpret this to mean reversed colours, so yellow coat with red facings, and also unusual enough to be remarked upon...
For my infantry I think I will go with red drums, white rims and ropes and device on white circle on drum unless anyone does come forward with further information.
