With respect to Russiam Grenadier headgear. the Azov regiment's records show having received 72 bearskin grenadier caps in 1704. This is reported in Tatarniokv's book aon Russian uniforms.

See page 115. Perhaps bearskins were in common use, since Tacitus has a source that says the Preobrazhensky Garde had them in 1708?

I clicked on the link and since I don't read Russian, couldn't find it. I'm sure this is a great source, but can't passed the first word.

I can't read Russian either, but use Google Translate and you can get the gist of it.

Ok, didn't know if the translator would work on a document.
Thanks.

You can copy large tracts from it and paste into the translator. I then copy it into MS Word to read it.

Spiraluck,
That sounds awesome. Is there any word on the regular Russian grenadiers?

They will be done at the same time. Just working on the command groups for both now.

Bill T,
Very nice. Definitely looking forward to those figures, as I'm sure a lot of folks are.
