New Swiss Pikemen for North Star 1672

Post by Nicknorthstar » Tue Jul 17, 2012 7:19 pm

Steve Saleh has just finished the Swiss Pikemen for our 1672 range.

We've based them on the armoured Swiss Pikes in French service. There are also Swiss Musketeers coming. They will have little bits of Swiss fashion on them, but more importantly they will be a new pose variant. We have followed Mark Copplestones poses upto now with our new figures, these move away from that.

Steve has just finished the Dragoon horse holders, pictures to follow soon.

He is working on the first character packs after the Swiss musketeers.

Would he entrain the idea the broadening the scope of the range by adding musketeers in different poses to those types (nationalities) already existent; such as "priming pan", "ramming cartridge", etc.?

This, IMHO, would greatly enhance the choice of presentation of a regiment.

Cheers,

Michael

I would be inclined to second that I dont think its a period in which troops should look that well drilled & a very small range of poses rather gives that feel.

I like the pictures a lot but I have a few too many projects on at the moment & it would be a shame to add them to the lead pile.

Will there be command packs for the French dragoons and the dragoons in fur caps too soon? These are really nice figures and whilst not maybe totally correct, I've been using some in my WSS armies.

Seconded (and I've already been pestering Nick about those for a little while already anyway). But I seem to recall Nick writing they were in the 'to do' list.
