For all of you who're interested in the wars in the east in our beloved period I've discovered a beautiful german site. It shows the trophies won by Markgraf Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden and Herzog Julius Franz von Sachsen-Lauenburg in the Great Turkish Wars of 1683-1692:

Mats,

you've been doing great work on research for our pet period. I am really impressed by the stuff you've sent me on the Nassau-Frieslanders. Primary research of this nature is the real core of understanding a period. I am waiting for your definitive conclusions to decided whether to retire the UNCAPTURED colours of my Nassau Friesland Guards and issue them with new colours after Mats Elzinga 8) [/i]
