Hall CD "Armies of Hanover, Celle & Brunswick 1670-1715"

Post by Glorfindel » Sat Jul 23, 2016 9:01 am

I've just seen one of the regular 'On Military Matters' circulars, advertising what I can only assume is a new Robert Hall Uniforms & Flags CD. This confirms that the CD includes the following colour plates:

"Hanover: 55: incl. 13 cavalry, 4 dragoons, 19 infantry
Celle 15: incl. 3 cavalry, 2 dragoons, 8 infantry
Brunswick 27: incl. 5 cavalry, 4 dragoons, 9 infantry

With regard to Hanover we have found extensive, previously unknown, material both on flags and standards from 1674-1700 as well as very complete uniform information, especially for the period 1682-1694, while a significant document written by the Celle colonels documented the differences between the armies in 1705. 1 vol, 248 pgs"

In case anyone has an interest (doesn't appear on the Baccus website yet but I assume this will change).

Cheers,

Phil

Yes, I have it. To my relatively untutored eye, it looks very good. The price is quite high, certainly compared to other CDs from Baccus, but the information is difficult to obtain and seems to be comprehensive.
