Thank you Dan Schorr for this information, which is not easy to find.

Small addition to Dan's information's - The Boarspear was not only used by the Saxons but also by the Electorate of Brandenburg (Prussia) for the same reasons - give the Foot Soldiers some protection against Cavalry by building Chevaux de Fris after removing the Pikes.
I believe that the Bavarians did the same from 1686, after they gave up the pike.

Is there any evidence for drummers and officers uniforms? I know there's an artillery officer earlier in the thread but I mean other than that? Thanks in advance.

It was common in the Saxon Army that Officers and Drummer wore the same Uniform as the common Soldier. Only that Officers wore a Sash around the waist and that their Uniforms were rather undecorated. Nothing of those fancy western style Uniforms. Simple and straight. :)
