15th16th November 2014 Balaclava

Post by Dale » Tue Jul 23, 2013 12:40 pm

Bob Lauder, the LoGW Crimean War specialist is organising this one after his earlier success last year. The Crimea has been a labour of love for Bob who has been building up huge armies for all nations over the years.

There is probably no truth in the rumour that, once he has located his missing redoubt board, Barry and Adrian are getting out their old knitting needles to create custom made headgear for the battle.

Recent e-mails from Bob L confirm the sleepless nights as Bob organises Balaclava on a 1:10 scale! The reinforcements to the chassis of Bob's car are simply to get him down here in one piece, not to bulldoze the enemy on the games table.

I understand that we have a full slate of players who play to enjoy. The wind-ups add to the game as do some of the Sunday morning sair heids.

Would all those who are available please assemble in the Guide Halls at 7.00pm on Friday 14th November prepared to move tables, boards and mountains of painted lead. See you all then.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
"Charge for the guns!" he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Today is the day that this incredible sight occurred, with the wonderfully British virtue of turning a resounding defeat into something worth celebrating.

Looking forward to meeting up for this guys, but won't be up until Saturday morning due to work commitments.

Toggy, the Poet... :o

Did you recently see a bit too much DS9 or did you know this by yourself?
„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.
