MARCH 2009 CONFIRMATIONS REQUIRED PLEASE

Post by barr7430 » Wed Jan 07, 2009 1:16 pm

Dear All,

the planning stages of our 2009 weekender are well advanced.

I need from you please, confirmations of attendance so that I can best plan orbats etc.
My understanding was that

Adrian Howe
Dave O'Brien
Colin Jack
Angus Konstam
Kevin Calder
Bob Lauder
Peter Nicholson
Dale Smith
Andrew Nicholson
Charles Grant
Peter McCarroll
BH
were all definites

I will umpire so we need one more player which will give us six per side.

Could you please confirm your attendance asap

If your name is not on the list and you want to participate pls contact me asap.

If you have 28mm Western Front 1944 era models which you would like to use please send me a list so that I can work out orbats. If you have no toys in this period... fear not.... between us we have the entire 21st Army Group and all of the Wehrmacht forces west of the Rhine.

This gear will be used on day 1. On day two we'll do something a little different and I'll supply the toys (although if anyone has any 40mm figures or vehicles in 1/32 or 1/35 Dragon of Forces of Valor... let me know

Barry

I'll be there!

I'm planning to bring my newly painted Brits along with 'hardware'. Could you give an idea of the 'size' you're aiming for, for each player/command?

Barry , I am definite for the March game and will let you have a list of my vehicles and figures. I'm assuming it's only Brits, Americans and Germans you need information on?

Is the Airlie open again for bookings ? I will probably try for a room again.

Chaps,

I plan to attend, and so too does my 28mm contingent of the Irish Guards;

I have a reinforced platoon (about 40 figures) incl. 6-pdr., Vickers MMG, 3-inch Mortar etc., in M3 Halftracks and Universal Carriers, plus three Shermans (including a Firefly), and a Humber a/c. Oh, and naturally I have Michael Caine in his Dingo.

Also available is a British Para. platoon - another 30-40 figures.

I suspect I'll really need to scour the toy shops for 1/50 scale Typhoons between now an' then, to help counter the usual horde of bloody Tigers...

Pip Pip,

Angus

Barry, Colin and myself will both be there.
Myself, Colin and Angus are supposed to have rooms in the Airlie and Dale was going to check to see if they were going to open for business by then but I haven't heard from him yet.

Colin and I will need to send you lists of our troops.

Cheers

Gentlemen,

Spoke to Dale just now. He is awaiting final confirmation that the Airlie will be open for bookings in March. He expects to hear for definite by the end of January and has promised to e-mail you all with confirmation.

If the Airlie is not available then the Guide Hall has been provisionally booked for that weekend and so we will have somewhere to hold the game - Dale would then make enquiries around the town for B & B's etc for those who need accomodation. There is also a spare bed here in Arbroath if you are struggling!!!

Barry,
you can use my 28mm figs if you need them. I have 1 platoon of Brits, Cromwell, 6 Pdr, Commando Platoon and an 88.

(I really do need to get round to painting more fogiures for myself)

If you need them let me know and I can pop them in to you.
