There hasn't been any dates set for March as D.I. has to confirm with the hotel to see which weekends are available so perhaps you should contact him Barry.

And the rule set to be used I believe is "Pig Wars"

What I was asked to do was note the equivalent dates from this year and translate them forward for next year. They are not in tablets of stone.

Some things to consider. One or two folk, myself included, have indicated in the past that they cannot manage the first weekend of the month, I often have difficulty with the second weekend of the month, the Kirriemuir hall is already booked for the second and last weekends of the month. For the past weekend KWC was bounced out of the hall for us, as was another organisation who came in when we left yesterday. It's a juggling match to try to accommodate as many of us as possible each time but we have, by and large, managed to do just that.

The Lundin Links booking is in Dave's hands and we'll hear about the date soon. If that means changing the message on the website I know that Barry is a wizard on that front. Unlike myself.

Hi Guys,
I have prov booked the 26-27TH March.

I was looking at 'Pig Wars’ for the rules' it needs about 20 figures and is a card driven game. It’s set just before the Viking period, ideal for what we had in mind. The only problem is...I'm not a big card driven fan! However, Pat as mentioned a rule set called 'Songs of Blades' as it only needs about 10 figures each. I'm now thinking about writing my own skirmish set that is based around Barry’s Movement points system!

If you are thinking of writing your own set Dave how about aiming to have about 30 figures a side but with only one or two characters. Personally I feel 10-20 figures is too small a force, what do the other guys think???

If you want a help writing the rules let me know and we can arrange some playtest sessions.

Cheers

Kirriemuir Wargames Club meets on the last Sunday of every month and in discussionns a few years ago we agreed to steer clear of that time.

In the notes taken during our discussion a number of rule sets were mentioned but we agreed to leave the selection of rules up to Alpha male.
However I do agree with Dave O'B that 30 plus figures is the way to go. More figures - more action! Usually.

Dave: this is exactly what I had in mind. 30+ figures that are character driven ... Just like I mentioned to everyone at the weekend. I know the feel that I want for this one! I’m working on an army lists and a draft of the rules. I'll keep the Gents informed and count you in for a playtest, however I want to keep a few surprises for everyone. I'll just quietly work away in the background.

Guys: is the 12th/13th ok for everyone?

Dave, obviously I won't be there, but I'd love to get a copy of your rules when they are farther along...
