Waterloo game - a postscript

Post by barr7430 » Sat Dec 02, 2006 11:49 am

Chaps,

I have been asked by one of the mags to write an article on our refight of Waterloo and provide the pictures taken showing the various stages of the battle as we did it.

Could I ask any of the Allied players to please provide me with a short summary of your overall battle plan and perhaps a brief perspective on the battle from your viewpoint. My deadline for this is December 18. So any help will be useful

thanks

B :D

I'm glad to hear it. There are lots of articles going back over the years in many of the wargames mags but few have decent pictures of the game or maps. Given our array of figures, terrain and your own writing and map making skillls I look forward to seeing the final product.

One small request. Don't include photos of any of us lot unless you digitally alter them !

I got the distinct impression their plan was "to wait and see what the French do" - and react accordingly

Hi Barry, I mentioned it to Colin yesterday during a refight of the battle of Koniggratz where the Prussians had another successful day although the Austrians did much better than in real life, although that wouldn't be too hard to achieve. He's quite - up with work just now so I don't know when he could get around to it.

Cheers

Chaps,

after a long period of radio silence from Spain I have been informed that the aforementioned article will appear in the issue of Wargames,Soldiers & Strategy that coincides with SALUTE 07.
If it does appear, I do apologize in advance for any disparaging comments I made about any(all) of you

Apart from that It's a very good magazine (I think I like it due to the complete articles and the lack of masses of advertising.
