Ray,
Very nice! Always a good thing to paint something a bit different...blue coats for the English. What Brigade/Division you working on?

No particular brigade, just whatever unit takes my fancy, next up for me will be some Jacobite units, for The Boyne and Aughrim.

Ray,
That sounds fun! Will you add any unique weapons beyond musket & pikes? I did four units with all kinds of weapons like pitch forks, axes, hammers, etc.

I probably will yes, but I'll get some of the more formed units painted up first. Good thing is they can be used for Sedgemoor as well, but that's a whole different story!!

Ray,
I know what ya mean...I'm all into GNW and just bought the book, Scanian War 1675-79, from Lars-Eric Hoglund. Now to start looking at Swedes w/o tricornes!

Hi Ray,
May I ask where your flag came from for this regiment?

Mark :)

It does say on the blog post but, here's another link,
http://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.co.uk/2009/12/not-quite-syw-but.html
For the plain flag I copied the flag to Microsoft Paint and coloured over the device.

Thanks, Ray.
I'm experimenting with Microsoft Visio. It's easy to make simple flags with the central cross but making little motifs is tricky, and I doubt if I can do folds in it.

I've tried doing the folds, but can't work out a good way of doing it. All I do for motifs, is trawl the web find one similar and shrink it down, if not try and draw it myself.

To try and add colour to the flag to make it look as though its rippling in the wind.

Ray,
Have you tried to make your own real ripples in the flags? I use a round pen and wrap the flag around it in various directions when the flag was just put together with white glue.

I do that now and again, but I like to see the flag, I find too many curls and twists and you lose all the effect from the flag.

Ray,
I hear ya - good reason to switch up to 25/28's...hehehe...or place bigger flags on your units.

Or use a bigger round pen for a wider fold.
