but can anyone help me with the uniform's of the following danish regiments dronningen (queen's) could this possible be red ,prince christian's and prince george. many thanks
Sapherson's "The Danish Army 1699-1715" has Dronningen's in Red coat, lined in yellow. Grey waistcoat and breeches. White stockings and cravat. Brass buttons. Yellow hat border and cockade. I understand it's a little late for the Irish campaign but it's all I've got.
There's an illustration of this also on page 70 of BLB along with a couple of interpretations of Prinds Georg's. These also I suspect came from the same Sapherson source.
For Prinds Georg's he says: Up to 1701 the coat was pale green. After this it became light grey. Waistcoat, breeches, linings and stockings were orange. Buttons tin. Cravat and hat border white. Cockade yellow.
And just for completeness, Prince Frederik's (later Prinds Christian's): Light grey coat lined in crimson or dep red. Grey breeches, crimson waistcoat and stockings. Tin buttons. White cravat. Hat border and cockade in crimson.
