I was perusing Leeds University online site for work and came across the following interesting information in John Childs' profile:

Lieutenant General Percy Kirke (c.1646-1691)
Kirke was a professional soldier, much involved in the Williamite cause during the Glorious Revolution in 1688. His dilatory and unconvincing conduct when sent to relieve the Siege of Londonderry in 1689 has raised questions about his political loyalty to William III: ever since he has been regarded with the greatest suspicion by the Protestants of Northern Ireland. The biography attempts to present an objective, non-partisan reassessment.
The War of the Spanish Succession, 1702-14
A rounded account of the war, which British historians usually restrict to a study of the campaigns of the Duke of Marlborough ignoring the theatres in Spain, Italy, the Americas and Asia as well as the concomitant Great Northern War, 1700-21, when Sweden resisted a coalition of Denmark, Saxony-Poland and Russia. There is currently no complete history of the war available in English.
