I think that may be of help..

According to Wikipedia: "...The Second Battle of Mohács, also known as the Battle of Harsány Mountain"

The Link below leads to a handdrawing of the OOB of the Battle:

If the picture is too small:

You could also try to access this book on the history of the 2nd Bavarian Infantry Regiment 'Kronprinz'. - There is no copyright any longer but it can't be seen in all countries ... though there are ways to view it.

On page 149 and the following ones there is a overview over the army's formation in different phases of battle. Two for the left wing which was commanded by the elector of Bavaria, one for the right one commanded by von Baden.

Help me then with the left Wing Infantry (guessing it's the red ones) What are extra units? Where are they from?

We know where these are from
Lieb Regiment (Bavarian)
Baden-Durlach Regiment
Baden-Baden Regiment

Assuming Austrians
Serini's Regiment?
Found mention of this unit fighting with Eugene in Italy later on.....

No Idea
Ober Rhein Regiment?
Velden's Regiment?
Salmsel's Regiment?
Kaiserstein Regiment?

Two I can't make out
One looks like Croÿ or Groÿ or Greÿ
The other covered by flags

Perhaps this is :
"Kaiserlich-Koniglich Infanterie-Regiment Johann Carl Graf Serenyi"
(Raised in 1672 and became Infantry Regiment Nr 25)

Ober Rhein Regiment?
Velden's Regiment?
Salmsel's Regiment?

Not found yet - someone here is likely to know !

Kaiserstein Regiment?

I expect this is :
Kaiserlich-Koniglich Infanterie-Regiment Johann Paul Freiherr von Kaiserstein
(Raised in 1643 and disbanded in 1748)

One looks like Croÿ or Groÿ or Greÿ

This may be :
Kaiserlich-Koniglich Infanterie-Regiment Carl Eugen Herzog von Croy
(Raised in 1659 and disbanded in 1693)

The other covered by flags

Not sure of this one - hard to distinguish. I did wonder whether it was :
Kaiserlich-Koniglich Infanterie-Regiment Johann Joachim Strasser
(Raised 1656 and disbanded in 1690).

Interesting question ! I'll keep looking for the other regiments.

These all seem to be Austrians. Where are the Bavarians?

Perhaps a little brusque - a 'thank you' might encourage further research ! ;-)

No worries.

Some goods news, though. I think I have now found the 'Ober Rhein' Regiment. Robert Hall's book 'The Military of the Upper Rhine Circle' confirms that a Regiment of Foot was raised by the Upper Rhine Kreis and took part in the Battle of Mohacs (commanded by Count Ludwig of Nassau-Usingen-Saarbrucken). The Regiment comprised 16 Companies formed into 2 Battalions (with individual Companies drawn from many separate German States).

It is also possible that 'Veldens' refers to the Bavarian 'Regiment zu Fuss Velden' (raised in 1682 and disbanded in 1705). Missed that one the last time I looked.

Anyway, I hope this helps. Certainly an interesting (but frustrating) project to work through the full order of battle.

Best of luck,

Phil

Then there is the corner:

Arco (3 esquadrons)
Soyer (4)
Arco (2)
Keiserstein = Kaiserstein

Durlach

Yeah, but that won't help that much imho. Best you can do is showing the image in browser, then copying it in a photo editor. Zooming won't help that much as the picture's quality and resolution is too low.
