Title : 2nd Batt. 69th Foot

2/69th Foot (South Lincolnshire) had spent most of the Napoleonic Wars at home supplying replacements to their first battalion. They were one of the most inexperienced British battalions and badly mauled at Quatre Bras where they lost their King's colour to French cavalry. At Waterloo they mustered 565 all ranks (28 models for R2E) so this shot of Victrix Miniatures is pretty representative of how they would appear on the table. They were part of Halkett's 5th British Brigade of the 3rd British Infantry Division in the second line of defence behind the centre right. I would rate them no better than Drilled but quite possibly as Recruits on the basis of both their inexperience and bad experience at Quatre Bras.
