Title : Main Events at St Bernard
German offensive action at St Bernard was extremely limited. This overview of the battlefield traces the advance of Imrei's stuG platoon (red line foreground) to the point where they were bombed, losing one vehicle. The Leutnant ordered a withdrawal and left the field. In the distance is Tiger 101. It's deathride can be traced on the path of the other red line to the point where it was bombed by three aircraft east of StBernard. No shame is attached to the outstanding performance of its commander. The blue lines represent the main attack paths of Hill's Hellions(sic). The Stuarts advanced to the south of the village attacking infantry in the woods and then looped back north when faced with the Tiger. The vast majority of the American force took the same route - none passed directly through the village.
