Re: Middle and Young Guard - Help pls

These Grenadier Fusilier figures should be accurately painted, they say pictures speak a thousand words so: http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz254/sheepman1/Napoleonic/CIMG3939.jpg http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz254/sheepman1/Napoleonic/CIMG3941.jpg http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz254/s...

Re: Finally finished my latest French Revolution unit

I must second Dave's comments, if I could afford Eureka I would, but the paint job is fantastic. Very well done.

Re: Vendee 1794, the counter revolution continues.

Dave, best of luck with the Vendee skirmish project, I'm sure it will prove to be great fun. The flags are hand painted and all I have for sources are in hard copy at home, however have a look through the Revolutionary bit of the blog site here: http://thenorthumbrianwargamer.blogspot.co.uk/search/l...

Re: Vendee 1794, the counter revolution continues.

Sorry for the delay lads just back from hols. Tim, the Royalists are made up from Reiver Castings 'Monmouth Rebels' range and Old Glory AWI militia, quite a mixture! While the Republicans are nearly all Old Glory Early Nap, technically the uniforms are incorrect as the tail skirt should have been lo...

Vendee 1794, the counter revolution continues.

An evening at the club and more Frenchmen (on both sides) bite the dust. A venture into the Vendee 1794 resulting in another entertaining encounter to find out which of the two forces was the worst, a historical fact born out during the game! http://i833.photobucket.com/albums/zz254/sheepman1/French...

Re: Eureka 28mm Austrian Chevaulegers

Finally, finally finished them. Looking back I think I should have split the painting in two lots of twelve but I wanted to get them finished so I bashed on. Frankly by the end I was sick of the sight of the buggers but it has to be said that they've turned out well and I'm quite pleased. The Eureka...

Gunter,
Four flags for each regiment, now that's what I call raising the standards.

Re: Eureka 28mm Austrian Chevaulegers

John, Many thanks for your time with your reply, my solution (already done actually) is simply to chop the sword off a trooper re sculpt his hand, drill and fix the flag staff. Job done. Maybe not historically accurate but I'm afraid I couldn't bear the thought of not having a standard leading the l...

Re: French Revolution 1795

Dave, Eureka have great figures and I agree (as I've stated here in the past) with all that you say, however as you can see from the photo's none of the troops on show are Eureka. Provided you aren't too picky about the finite details the other manufacturers cover most of what you will need. On show...
