Re: Building an Army for the TYW around 1635-1645

Interesting! Will the horse holders be mounted or dismounted for the dragoons? What about other dismounted cavalry? Sounds like an interesting project! Keep us posted! Rob, That is a detail I did not work out so far :D Thanks for your interest! Günter It's something I have noticed across periods - ...

Re: Looking for new Sculpting challenges

I believe I have two books where I have seen those Uhlans Filling gaps in other Manucturers ranges is a difficult task as those Miniatures may be a "one-off" sale :| Not impossible. Same Source I believe but also like the above Units a "gap-filler" It is no me who have to decides to do it. B...

Re: Looking for new Sculpting challenges

Given your position as King of Saxony, Poland, and all-around disliker of Prussians, there are some elements of the Seven Years War that need attention. First off, Saxon Polish Uhlans are very much needed. I'm not aware of anybody sculpting them in 25/28mm or 15/18mm: http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/im...

I'd be nice if they release the Burnaby figure individually. I much prefer this one to Warlord's, though supposedly he was in a Norfolk suit for Graham's campaign.

I've always been a fan of their ECW/TYW stuff - especially their folks in monteros. Whenever I get the time/money to start building Royalists in bulk, they're my choice.

Re: My TWY Army (I)

Absolutely beautiful painting and basing - that's exactly what the pike and shot period is supposed to look like!

Who's figures did you use?

Re: Your suggested rules

I am a fan of Habitants and Highlanders myself. It's designed for fighting the French and Indian War, but the big battle rules mechanics work well for Europe with one or two modifications. The only real hitch is the need to provide morale ratings for European troops.

Re: Looking for suitable miniatures

I have just bought and read the rule book and am looking forward to be able to play this. Thing is I am not sure of the best figures to buy, I have looked at the ranges from Warfare, Ebor and Front Rank but most of the figures seem to be designed for being in mass ranks not for a skirmish game, can...

Donnybrook for Napoleonics

I picked up a few of the Trent figures for the Wars of the Revolution at the Seven Years War convention (don't ask - the vast majority of my purchases were much later than the SYW), and I'm looking for a good bit of skirmish rules for them. Would Donnybrook need any real changes to be used in the Fr...

Re: Which faction will YOU do?

I've been thinking about either English Civil War, Dutch Wars, or Seven Years War/American Rev. I'm part of Der Alte Fritz's kickstarter for the Hessians, and I'm thinking adventures in Germany for a company of Hessians (or Prussians) and some French, or Austrians.

Interesting. Any word on why they had 2-5x the "light troops" allotment of a standard Prussian Corps?
