League of Augsburg collection for sale

Due to wargaming rationalisation, otherwise known as lack of time, I am selling off my large collection of figures. Take a look at the Market Place section for full details.
Cheers

Don't know why that happened Barry, but thanks anyway - it's the thought that counts!! I am sure I will be even more motivated to press on with the collection when BLB 2 and the new range of figures are out.

The game was put on (I think) by the North Hull Wargames Club (of Long Road North and Panzer Marsch fame). I thought the figures were 15s but I might be wrong. Anyway they may have a website/blog and perhaps you could contact them that way.
Good luck!

Thanks for the comments guys - very encouraging. This period, which is relatively new to me, seems to be growing in popularity.

BLB Grand Alliance units

Hi all, Just uploaded the latest unit onto my new-ish blog (www.steve-nationsinarms.blogspot.com). You can see what inspired it in the League of Augsburg Gallery - imitation is, as they say, the sincerest form of flattery!!). Can't wait for the arrival of BLB2 to put these units through their paces....

Hi Footslogger - have recently added this very regiment to my Grand Alliance Dutch army. I am no expert on the uniforms of this period, so I relied on the Hall plate. You are welcome to take a look at www.steve-nationsinarms.blogspot.com

Thanks chaps - great response. Hadn't realised that Minifigs did such a large range. They seem promising but are they compatible with Perry/Foundry stuff do you think? Thanks again for all the replies.

Napoleonic battery waggons

Can anyone suggest a source of generic 4 wheeled baggage/supply waggons, as opposed to army specific limbers/caissons with which to liven up French, Prussian and Russian artillery units. I would like to add a little depth and bulk to my batteries (although not to the visually impressive but suspicio...

Hi Simon I only count British and Dutch cavalry as superior myself as they seem to have been directly influenced by Marlborough's preference for shock tactics. From what I have read, most other allied cavalry still seemed to favour the use of fire tactics. Would be interested to hear what Barry inte...

Hornet's Nest - not at all; we are all Gentleman Wargamers here, I am sure. I will continue using the rules (which I very much like), whether it is 4", 6" or random. No slacking though Barry - I am sure you said BLB 2 would be available in the first quarter of 2010 - my stopwatch is running!!

Hi All Are we not in some danger of disappearing up our own derrieres on this one? With the greatest respect to Barry, Lily Banners are not an accurate in a drill book sense, representation of late 17th and early 18th century warfare (thank God in my view!). In my experience rules with such pretenti...

I must admit that I agree with Steve. usually one side is on the defensive and awaits the approach of the other. If the two are 30 inches apart, it can take some time to get into effective musketry range at 4" per move. The main problem as I see it, is that with cavalry being considerably quicker to...

Hi Barry
Do you have the 1644 amendments you use for the 30 Years War? Have recently acquired a set and they look good but clearly intended for ECW. I really fancy Clarence's VWQ and am still hoping this is a project you will both get around to, including a 30 Years War chapter.

Frills and Fripperies

Hi All Whilst the Great and the Good are pondering the philosophical and practical profundities involved in bringing BLB 2 into being, could I lower the tone somewhat and ask if the new set will have new illustrations and scenarios? I don't know how anyone else feels, but I found they greatly enhanc...
