Thanks Phil. The unit you refer to is, I believe, the English regiment North and Grey's. They stood their ground well, as I recall. Thanks for the info Gunther - will see if I can manage it next time!

Hi. The uniforms of the Imperial Guard underwent various changes between 1854-1860. As far as the Crimean War is concerned, the main characteristic is that both the Grenadiers and Voltigeurs wore BLUE trousers, not red.
