I dont know which upset me more, the loss of 24 bayonets and a repaint, or countless hours in a vain attempt to get the...

Hi Barry, I know some people who've just spent some time in a hot and hostile place (not Margate) and are looking forward to a little "free time" if you like they might want to "reveiw " Mr Macfarlane for 1-2 hrs or over a period of several days. Reading is'nt a strong point, and if we're honest they...

I've found a reference in Pat Condray's "A Wargamers guide to the age of Marlborough" a quote from Kuhn states that French Dragoon regts Fimaroon,Hautefort and Rannes had green coats. Also one of the few Hungarian units still in Imperial service wore green coats "Deak's" Hussars. Sorry its rather la...

Dear Darkman, Sounds like a good set up! would you partake of any beer / spirits/ meths or contraband substances to ease the free painting spirit? I only ask as i've yet to hear of a tea-total painter :!: I find the odd beer helps relax and calm the soul, and although on a few occasions i've dipped b...

Mr churchill, the figures i've seen from your collection so far are stunning, I cant help but admire the skill in painting required. I only hope Front Rank have a contingence plan if you stop buying from them. I agree that Front Rank are well sculpted and lovely to paint,i have however noticed...

I think i've spotted a flaw in my free painting adventure :!: finishing units is becoming harder to do,also theres a limited amount of space above the fire place. totally different units jostle for position and some have been there for a few weeks now. And its a nightmare to dust! I feel the deadlin...

The problem with wargamers is that we're human, and fall prey to such sins as greed, avarice and the inability to think straight when we think we're saving money. This forum is blessed with people with noble ideals and the ability to think ahead. Alas, men like you are few. The people Jim overheard i...

I'm sorry i've only just read this re-visited subject, as a dyer i can whole heartedly confirm green is a b***ard to fix! Yes , all these years later and its still difficult to keep from frothing up, going off or turning blue. We have to use a very expensive product "Vitexol" on some shades to preve...

I use Citadel Scorched brown as an undercoat and then bulid up with a mix of Scorched brown and Vermin brown, and then add a little Bleached bone to the mix to highlight up. However its worth considering which part of India your mutineers are from! The far north of India has Nepalese and Pathans to ...
