What are the essential books for this period?

A quick confession. I have become a little obsessed by this period. I have almost completed a 15mm James II army circa 1685. I have WSS and GNW armies building and next year 3 of us are going to build 28mm LoA armies. I have got a few basic books on the period but would like ot read lots more. Could...

Daft Question about hats

Can anyone tell me when A the Swedes and B when the French adopted the Tricorne?

Daft I know but it would help on some figure purchases.

Cheers

Which LoA army?

Hi All

My project for the next year is to build a 28mm League of Augsburg period army. I am a little unsure what to get. I try to be an aggressive close to combat type player. So, any suggestions of an army that would fit my style?

My opponent has pretty averaged sized 15s but the figs I am looking at are either Hallmark (very small) or Venexia (very large). Any suggestions or alterna...

Some wargaming scenarios?

I was wondering if anyone know of any books with scenarios for the 1670 to 1715 period?

Im looking for games that might involve say 6 or 6 units aside so I guess rear guard, scouting or bridgehead type games. Is there anything else? Or should I be writting them myself?

Newbie needing help with various army issues

Hi All New to BLB and really interested in gaming Monmouth's rebellion, the Glorious Rebellion and the Jacobite risings of that period. I have some questions I hope the collective minds may be able to assist me with. 1. How does one base Jacobite Scots? Guys with Muskets and guys without would be in...
