Thats great news Barry. Glad to hear your going to do the GNW as part of the rules. Is it too early to talk about a time scale?

Just got the book on the Russian arny through from Baccus this morning. It look superb, and the amount of references to flags is just great. I'd recommend both these Acedia Press titles for anyone doing this period. Also Baccus got it to me the next day after ordering.

Had a look at the paintings. Really superb work. It makes you wonder at the entrants for the Turner prise these days!! Barry and all, Steve Hales of Little Big Men Studios called me to discuss making a line of flags for this period yesterday. he would be looking at producing around 10 infantry flags...

To be honest no I haven't. My research material is pretty thin, but I'll try doing a google search.

Musketeer 28mm GNW figures

Hi All As this site was my main insparation to sculpt this period I thought you might like to see the first fruits of my labour. On the site now are pics of the Swedes and Russians in Tricornes. I will have the figs with Karpus hats up by the weekend if all goes well. Thanks once again to Barry and ...

Swedish Grenadiers in the GNW??

Hi All I'm working on a range of GNW figs at the moment, and need a little info as far as Swedish grenadiers go. I don't have much pictorial info, but what I have show one with a large cartridge box, as with normal infantry, and a small embroidered cloth bag slung over his shoulder and to the rear. ...

Hi Martin As well as yellow, there were regiments with red, blue(lighter than the coat colour), white and even one with orange. Yellow seems to have been the most common. It seems also that the colour of the linings was also the colour of their gaters/stockings. Bacus miniatures(6mm stuff) sell a gr...

Wow thanks very much for that Lindsay. Great fun trawling through those sites.

I think from what I can go on so far is that pockets were worn, but sometimes the flap was missing. On others the buttons were missing. I think I'll go with the latter.

More uniform questions!

Hi All
Can anyone tell me if British, or for that matter, any other nations troops, have pockets on their waistcoat around 1690?
Cheers
