Re: Gamers in the central plains?

I live in Lenexa Kansas and have a friend who lives in Shawnee Kansas and we have amassed and painted quite a large number of Williamite War 25/28mm figures but have not actually played a game in the period. Our cavalry figures are based two per stand and we decided to base our infantry six per stan...

Re: Gardes te Paard

Ray, that page gives a very clear view of the uniform. I guess the beige coloured hats are correct according to these illustrations. - Bob R

Re: Gardes te Paard

I have an interest in the Gardes te Paard (circa 1690's) as well and have been looking for some 28mm figures that would work. I could possibly do some conversion but not much. Any ideas? - Bob R

Re: Lord Louth's foot regt

I like the facing and coat color combination. You have got to be getting very close to completing all the units for the Battle of the Boyne. Congratulations on another fine job!

Re: Uniforms for Spanish and French Guards

These Guards are super looking figures. When will they be available for purchase and will you have officers, musicians and standard bearers?.

Re: Militia Early 1700's.

Thanks Simon. I have Front Rank and I think they look good on the table in units of Front Rank only but I feel they are just a little to large to mix with Northstar that are as tall but more slender in proportion. I like the looks of both manufacturers equally though. I am looking for some figures t...

Militia Early 1700's.

I am working on a militia battalion that I want to use in our imaginations games. I have some Northstar (old Copplestone figures) with the 1680's style hats and uniforms. I would like to mix in some tricorne types to give the unit a more informal look along with slight uniform variations. Any sugges...

I like the way Fitzharding's Dragoons look. How did they do in the battle? The yellow makes them really standout. - Bob R

Re: Boisseleau's flags for the Boyne

I wrap the flag around a brass tube that then slides over the flag bearers pole. I use the brass instead of the aluminum because it doesn't bend as easily. You also only have to saw about 1/4 of the way thru the brass and then it easily snaps off the original longer tube. I ended up using a small sa...

Re: Boisseleau's flags for the Boyne

The drummers really didn't go with the unit nor did grenadiers. I just added them from another unit. The flags look really good in 25mm scale. i mixed in Front Rank, Copplestone (Northstar now) and some standing poses I had laying around that I am not sure who the maker was. - Bob R.

One battalion done. Trying to build units on a 20:1 scale. Flags are on brass tubes and interchangeable. - Bob R.

Re: Boisseleau's flags for the Boyne

i am doing red coats with white cuffs to keep them as generic as I can. I make my flags removable by putting them on a brass tube. That way, i can easily change the regiment by just changing the flag. Sometimes I have different individually based drummers and grenadiers that can change with the flag...

Re: Boisseleau's flags for the Boyne

Really nice flags Ray. I feel guilty but I keep using your flags on my regiments. I too am painting the two Boisseleau battalions and decided to go with white facings for both (based on absolutley nothing) but giving one battalion white stockings and the other grey. I was thinking also about the gre...
