Unit Frontage in BTLB

Hi There,

I see from the pictures of the BTLB games on the site that infantry units are 3 bases wide, but cavalry are 2 bases wide.

Is there a historical reason for this?

Also are cavalry usually deployed 1 or 2 deep?

Thanks,

Mark

Re: William's Lifeguards at the Boyne. Question.

There are some shots here of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Troops of Lifeguards.

The 4th Lifeguards are actually the the Dutch Gardes du Corps.

Re: Questions regarding the Light Infantry.

Thanks Gunter.

Did they deploy from line to skirmish formation and then back again into line in the same battle?

Or once deployed into skirmish line, would they not be formed into a solid body again?

Re: Questions regarding the Light Infantry.

Guys this is a really interesting thread. A couple of questions: - 1. Light Infantry in standard Line forma ion, would they move faster than standard Line battalions in open, rough or difficult ground? 2. should they get bonuses/minuses when fighting Line infantry in open, rough or difficult ground?...

Hi There, Yet another question! WLTM - Exotic Dragoon Regiment in Dutch Service!

Hi All, I know it sounds like a lonely hearts advert, but I'm looking for an exotic Dragoon regiment in Dutch service during the NYW or WSS. I've already earmarked Miremont's Huguenot Dragoon regiment and The Danish 'Hungarian' Dragoons, I was just looking for another equally unusual unit to make up...
