You can find the report here: http://platoonforward.blogspot.com/2021/09/donnybrook-forward-style-tinytown-ma.html Skip the first 2 paragraphs to miss my drivel. the battle starts 3rd paragraph. Enjoy ...

Re: Never trust a Bey!

Thanks Dave. I agree it is a versatile system. I have adapted it to WW II as well.

Rifles Forward

Have completed a rough draft of my campaign rules for use with Donnybrook. It is very solitaire friendly. Did my first playtest here and did advance the system to 1778. It will work earlier though as you focus on the characters not the technology.

Re: Donnybrook with 15mm Miniatures

I only play 15mm. I second blue moon as their figures are top notch. they are not really 15mm but 18mm. I have also used Eureka and even some peter pig figures. With peter pig I just use a thicker base to make up for the height.

Thank you both; yes I was planning on using outlaws.
Clarence, good points-- particularly opposing Outlaws.

Thanks

smugglers opponents

As previously stated I know a great deal about WW II but much less about Black Powder. Am thinking of doing some smuggling along the coast of England with Donnybrook. Those folks I can figure out. What I don't know about would be their opponents. What type of force could the customs official have at...

A small WW II patrol scenario

WW II Donnybrook is 75% done. Need to tweak the leadership and armor rules.
Played 2 squads in a French village---found here:

Great scenario idea! I find that simple small scenarios are most often the most enjoyable.

Re: WW II Donnybrook

Clarence,

While I know little about black powder I actually know a fair amount about WW II infantry tactics. I would be happy to work on a supplement with you. Even vehicle rules.

WW II Donnybrook

Have started working on Donnybrook for WW II. Playtested my second game. Background for the game derived from my campaign rules Platoon Forward.

Re: Tangiers Prisoner rescue

Gerry,

That is a truely amazing run a dice rolling. Remind me to never take you to Vegas. I guess I just don't want the dice to affect the outcomes of my games THAT much.

Re: Tangiers Prisoner rescue

Wow that is some bad luck! I have had some misfires and I think it does add "color" that will be missing from later years. My question is how unreliable were the muskets? Could you really lose 3-4 men in one go? ( It does make for some great gaming stories!) Not being an expert by any means t...

Tangiers Prisoner rescue

Played a scenario loosely based on Mr O Brien's. First time muskets were not overpowering. :) Unfortunately this put Lt Prescot in a pickle.
