Rally in VWQ

Quick question about Rallys, If trying to Rally a Shaken unit and it fails, does the unit Rout or remain Shaken?

If a Routing unit is being Rallied and fails, does the Routing make a rout move again or is it removed from table?

Gun Carriage Colors

Greeting Everyone,

Hope everyone had good holidays.

My question for the New Year, were gun carriages and limbers painted? If so, were there specific colors for different nations?

Thanks.

Re: LOA Armies

Thank you all for responding. So I think that the best use of my money would be to build a Holy Roman Empire army that would be in lots of battles? And since I will be sharing this time period with local gamers, I should have a second army to fight the HRE at local game stores to build up interest i...

Trained Bands

Greetings, in regards to the Trained Bands of the ECW, did fight for both sides? Or better yet, is there a reference somewhere that shows which Trained Bands fought for side?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Any Games Being Played?

Greetings, it doesn't seem there is much traffic on this forum for VWQ or BLB. Is there another place that is more active?

thanks.

BLB

Greetings, looking at this period of gaming. Which set of BLB would be the best start? BLB2 or BLB3?

Where might either be found?

Are they still being played?

thanks in advance of your answers.

Any Games Being Played?

Greeting, the VWQ group seems to be a bit quite lately. Has anyone been gaming these rules? If so, any pictures or battle reports you want to share? I have been busy painting. Now trying to decide how to do flags for the units. I am thinking of making slip on banners so I can change the units from g...

Re: VWQ for TYW

Forgot to add after posting. Larger Tercios Instead of a second stand of Pike, it could be a stand of Halberdiers or Sword and Buckler men who would be place behind the pike stand in a normal line formation or in the rear position of a Pike Stand. If in line formation and charged, the Halberdier or ...

Re: VWQ for TYW

finally time to think about this topic again. What I have come up with so far but not used in a game yet. Presented here for your discussion, pros and cons. MEDIUM ARTILLERY Based the same as Field Artillery or on an 80x80. roll 3d6 each stand, score hit on 4+ Range 0-5 short, 5+to 12 medium, 12+ to...

Re: Brigade move test

Alan, do you allow your CnC when his card is drawn to give his order to a Brigadier who could then activate his entire brigade? I like the 6 inch command range from the BG and all the same action. It seems that this would really improve large games and keep them from slowing down and some units not ...

Re: Victory without Quarter 10mm basing

Over the holiday break I was able to breakout my bases and play around with basing and decided that going with half the suggested base size from the rules works better for my 10mm armies. Here's what I'm doing. All infantry on 30x30 bases, 5 shotte per base and 9 pike per base. To make the commanded...

Re: Brigade move test

Was this Brigade Move, every added to the rules? It sounds like a good idea and it seems like it would help keep brigades from breaking up too much.

what say you?

Re: Unit Sizes?

Well then Clarence take a look see at your last version :-) I too was a bit confused in the size of a cavalry regiment. From reading the rules, page 2, 4th paragraph, it says "Horse units may be fielded in regiments of two to four squadrons." Then at the bottom in th 1.1 Unit Organization Box it has...
