Old LoA Wargames Illustrated Features

Barry, some years ago WI featured a photo essay on a battery which the LoA had constructed. It was extremely impressive. You wouldn't remember which issue it was would you? Thanks.

Dan's website can be accessed at www.northernwars.com. Perhaps you were using the older address. Just post if you still can't get in. I just checked and the information is still there. I'll e-mail Dan to see if it causes him any heart-ache if I download the material and send you a disc.

Stratagem Miniatures

Gentlemen; My belated thanks to all who responded. I located a small stash of remaining stock and am now the proud owner of 17 Stratagem French dragons and 1 drummer. I have heard that the line was spotty; however, these are IMHO some very nice figures. Now which regiment to model? I e-mailed the Wa...

Thanks Barry. I spoke to the Wargames Illustrated people who advised that the range had been discontinued. They were looking for some left over figures. Apparently, they didn't find any. I was hoping that someone or someones had enough odd figures laying around for me to acquire the eqivalent of 4 s...

Trent (Stratagem) Miniatures

Gentlemen;

I am looking for French Dragons, both mounted and dismounted, and French pike from the Trent a.k.a. Stratagem line and have been advised that they have been discontinued. Does anyone know of any potential source for these figures? Thanks.

Figure Conversion

Barry; In your Gret Northern War gallery you have a photo titled "Swedish Bayonets 1709." You note that the pikeman is a conversion using a head swap; however, the figure looks like it might have had a breastplate originally. Would you care to dispense a little conversion advice; i.e., did you use p...

WSS in Italy

Hello Bluebear;

As I recall, a couple of Italina eenactment groups have sites. You can googling "Turin 1706" or "yellow dragoons." I'll revert further as I can come with actual urls. Do you need information on battles, campaigns, etc. or do you also need uniform information?

Thanks for both replies. If anyone has extra Stratagem (Trent) French dragoons, mounted or dismounted, command, drummers or troopers or has pike, either marching or stnading at order, please contact me with your terms. I will take painted or unpainted figures.

Thanks again,

Stratagem/Trent Miniatures

Does anyone know who carries the old Stratagem line of War of Spanish Succession figures? I believe that they are now called Trent Miniatures.

Thanks,

ULB

Barry;

I tried to go to ULB, v.3 but couldn't connect. Is it now unavailable due to the work on v.4?

Thanks,

Figures

Lindsay, The Osprey book on the Army of Louis XIV features a plate showing French cavalry, see plate C, one of which sports a buffcoat. I have read that Savoyard cavalry wore these buffcoats well into the League of Augsburg period and possibly into the Marlburian period. The same plate features a mu...

Thanks, Barry. Your GNW figures are outstanding. Are the pike for the Riazanski regiment Foundry Marlburian artillerymen? I don't see any similar pike figures currently listed. I ask because I'm looking for pikmen for my Marlburian Spanish.

Thanks and best regards,

Barry,

I just planned to use four bases instead of three. I thought about making French and Spanish bases a little deeper (60mm) to position figures so as to imply three lines rather than two. I want a diffenerent visual impression of my Spanish and French.

Thanks,

Pictures and ULB Qustion

Barry;

You mention having sold 4 heavy guns in the past. If they are the ones in that great battery, do you still have pictures and could you post one?

Do you anticipate any problems with kicking battalion size up to 24 figures under the rules?

Thanks
