Yes that's where the bayonet goes, don't know the english term for it.

I paint the thing that connects to the belt in light beige (representing leather) and the "bayonet-holding-part" in black with a little part of metal in the end.

...hope that helps

Because of all the good words I've hard here I had to try the inks myself and I have to say that I am very pleased with the result. Tried it on a FOW panther tank and it looked really good after just a basecoat of paint and then the ink on, although I decided to do some further highlights just to se...

Those are really good, it's amazing you can paint like that in 15mm, im having a hard time doing it in 28mm  I have a german grenadier army for FOW which i decided to paint in camo, not as elaborate as the SS but anyway, after two platoons of infantry I just wanted to kill myself. How long tim...

They, as you said, probably wore more elaborate versions of the regiment to which they belonged uniform. As far as I know officers almost always had tp pay themselves for their uniforms so these were generally of better quality with better materials and more ornate than the common soldiers. A great ...

New BLB Units for GNW

Well I've been painting away lately. In all time I have between work and sleep ;) First up is Södermanlands regemente a native swedish unit which was active throught the whole war in almost all theatres. Here they are using their 1702 uniforms. All Reiver miniatures. http://i31.photobucket.com/album...

Great to hear Rob!

Will there be any new shiny things for the GNW range?

Personally I would like to see some norwegian skii troops! :D

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough... You get the link you should use by right clicking on the picture and choose "Properties" (I think! My windows is in swedish, it's at the bottom of the menue anyway). A new smaller window should appear, just copy the text that is after "Adress" and use that in between ...

Those are really nice! I really need to start making more interesting bases for my own batallions, it can make a real difference in apperance of the unit as you have proved (not that your painting wouldn't be enough ;)) I don't find the reiver miniatures that big that you two seem to do though. Sure...

Have to say that that looks really nice to me. I don't spend much time on my figures, just the basics, I only highlight the larger areas and only one time.

Do they get too dark if you have a black undercoat? As I use block painting a white undercoat won't do for me ;)

You could use a full battalion of grenadiers as the danish had a Grenadier Regiment at least from 1701 and onwards. I don't know how many men there were in this regiment but at least a battalion.
