Hi Ray et al, Thanks for the write up, the cracking photographs and for diplomatically restraining the news that it was my freshly painted Dutch guards cavalry brigade out for the first time on a wargames table that, in your very capable hands, did the mauling of that Jacobite rabble I was in comman...

Hi Ray and Flick 40, I hope you enjoyed the game. It certainly looked better that I had hoped and the best thing is that we managed to both play the game (a rare event if truth be known for UK demonstration games!) and get a conclusion. It proves that a 24 by 12 foot table is the only way to stage t...

Hi Jim.
Did you find the figures to be on the large side?
Rich in our group has obtained some and whilst he is very pleased with the castings he has commented about their size. We use WF and Dixons with a few others thrown in for good measure however these are outside the envelope.

Battle of Fleurus1690

Hi all, The "Like a stone wall" wargames group will be at the Foundry open day in Nottingham this coming Friday with a demo of Fleurus. All new cloth flags will adorn the units (recycled Boyne troops) and a few new units will be on the table for those fortunate to be able to attend. If you can be th...

Hi Ray, Kind words from you again about I games. Glad you liked the site. Thanks. Yep the book has been a God send to us and I have been corresponding with Mike directly. The Aughrim game was so much easier after getting those remaining details from him. We hope to go far with either that game or ho...

Hi all, having received my copy and read it twice through I can recommend it to all in the forum. Mike has been good enough to supply our group with some early details - contained in the book appendices - particularly on the Jacobite battalion returns. With that we were able to put together a refigh...

Battle of Aughrim 1691

H all

I'm am seeking  orders of battle for the Jacobites at the battle.

To date all that I have for that force are the comments within Hayes-MKcCoy's Irish Battles.

I have been able to use CA Sapherson for the Williamites. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Ed, Had it since the day it first came out. Little concerned about lack of raw military detail as it skims over most items for the sake of general readership. I still rate Beresford-Ellis. However the detail and side tracks can get a little unnerving when trying to follow a point in the main text...
