Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Hi Kev Thanks alot for the replies. Yes I might need some more dice as my first test was for my experienced gun battery and I threw 00. We thought that as 2 supported lines can cover the same frontage as a normal line they had a much better chance of causing a failed test. We wanted to encourage peo...

Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Questions. When you fall back do you avoid obstacles wood etc. So if you had just moved over a fence and then received fire and had to fall back do you move the full distance or just move back over the fence? Is there a minimum distance you have to move in order to count as advancing? Do Commanders ...

Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Hi Dave
I will sort out the questions tonight when I am home. Is it okay to do it here or would the Victorian wars section be better?

Hi David
We did have some questions about the game this morning. What is the best way to contact Kevin. Is he a member of the forum?

Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Is there any advantage in a field column.
Also what counts as a supporting unit,in melee?
And one that is not relevant for tomorrow but do cavalry get 2D6 or 3D6 when charging.

Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

I did wonder that as the factors for firing and melee are all multiples of 5% why a D20 was not used.

Re: Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Thanks for the reply David. So two sequences make one move and then you dice for initiative again.

Bonnie blue flag ACW rules

Hi I have read that some of the people on the forum have played the above rules. I have a question and wonder if someone would be able to give me an answer. Is the turn sequence such that one player completes all of his actions and then the other player does his. Or is it that one player does one pa...

Re: Rules question.

So characters like the ensign and drummer would not have a card in the deck as they cannot move on their own.

Rules question.

When a characters card is turned over in turn 1 he can take an action. Then unit A's card turns over and then they can take an action. If the characters action is to join Unit A, they all they can do in their action is fire or charge. In the next turn If the character wants to take an action with th...

Re: Which faction will YOU do?

Samurai, using the Army list, Monks using the Rebels list and Ronin using the Outlaws list, Add some ECW figures as Portugese (bit early I know)and that makes a game to take to the club to get people interested.

Re: Aly Morrison and Little Wars

Hi Aly Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that you had used the Little wars rules as written but found a mechanism for artillery fire without the match firing guns. One concept I am looking at is coins. Toss 4 coins per gun say, opponent calls the face to miss, all hits are tossed again until they m...

Re: Aly Morrison and Little Wars

Thanks David.
Bit disappointed but never mind. Have to see if I can think up something more in line with HGW's ideas. Other than buying any matchstick firing gun I can find.

Re: Aly Morrison and Little Wars

Thanks David

Firing guns is great, but very damaging on the paint work.

Aly Morrison and Little Wars

Hi All Reading the article about Little wars that Aly Morrison did at Partizan in WI last month and was interested in what changes he made so that he didn't use match firing guns. Not that I have anything against the guns but thought it might make for an easier intro game for players new and old. Al...
