So what would be wise playing on a regular 6x4 gaming table in 28mm with FOW in mind ?

Also Barry what size basing have you used ?
(probably vehicles left unbased ?)

Re: Flames of War in 28mm

Eh seing this topic has some history (given the dating of the posts) I am actually wondering if anyone has done anything with the 28mm FOW idea ???? :?: I have seen some 20mm FOW efforts seen here and there (WHC for one) and at least one link to 28mm FOW (Lonely Wargamers blog) but curious as toward...

Having played R2E for several years now there are a lot of mechanisms which I think well. The artillery rules for example with gun calibre determining the number of dice to be used. So a battery of 4 x 12 pounders requires 12 dice to be rolled whereas 2x Horse Artillery 6 pounders only get 4 dice. ...

Do include some point system

Barry, Altough I know that it is a lot of work and is always a sore point between people designing the pointssystem and the players that feel that there Romans should always be less points for the punch they pack it does add a whole lot of gamers into potential buyers. In my experience rules that ha...

Regards simultaneous movement, a big no no! My experience of these type of rules brings out the worst in gamers. Wait and see moves, sorry I never took my hand off it ! oh! I was meant to move that there etc. It also slows down the game. Plus terrain dictates players to stay put. As I will wait and...

Hi Barry, Throwing handfuls of dice is something which is very distributed amongst players. On the one hand it takes some extra cards (etc) out of the game but also the results are pretty narrow (talking D6). So both have their advantages. With WHNAP (something like that?) lurking around the corner ...

magic wash miracle?????? what is that? The semi-gloss mix in the matt varnish.... what purpose does this actually serve in the overall finish  Hi Barry, Thanks for the compliments on the unit. The result does give a grity looking unit. Magic Wash is a floorcleaner (wash) which has its modell...

Barry et al, The link in above image is working alright. There are some pictures and text residues of the copied of page but that should not distract. As mentioned before: The Chaos Marines (AND Orc bike + rider) were painted in ONE afternoon with the mentioned procedure. As I told you close up thin...

I'll see what I conjure up tomorrow afternoon.

However be warned as in the post that the close up view is much less prettier than a view from playing distance.

I'll see if I can do 2 shots so you can see the difference.

Hi Guys, Even though I need to carefully hide the fact that my cloggies is far better than my English I would like to add some thoughts. Pat has hit the mark on painting, and I must say that my experience has been the same so far. Becoming more adept at painting you keep loooking for ways to improve...

Hi Rene! what I mean by overpainting is: Too many highlights which do'nt really add value (4+ on a basic colour) Too much detail (eyes being an example) I have noticed with some frustration that when photographed, particularly from a distance... basic, neatly painted figures with bold colours and l...

I have for many years - OVERPAINTED. I have recently made a vow to UNDERPAINT. :?: Hmm Altough the language barriere might not be helping here can you explain what you mean with over and under painting Barry ? I think it will have something to do with the amount of painted detail but I am not sure....
