Help with flags for French Balkan troops (1812)

Hi Everybody,

Does anybody have any information regarding the flags that might have been carried by the 1st Croatian and Dalmatian Light Regiments that served with Eugene's IV corp during 1812? The Croatians were part of 13th Division and the Dalmatians the 15th Division (Italian).

Cheers

I like them a lot. The bases work especially well for me.

Looking forward to seeing "Wightman's". Can't imagine why :D

Hi Ray, Yes - we counted the shooting casualty in the combat resolution. If I recall the infantry had used their first volley and only caused 1 casualty. The cavalry caused 3. I didn't have a problem with this at all. I just wanted to check we hadn't missed anything, as one of the players didn't lik...

It's a book. Paperback 224pp. Amazon has an entry for it. I'm only as far as the taking of Irish Town, but I'm loving it. The level of detail is just about perfect for me. I'm very much impressed by the obvious depth of the research, explaining as it does, such minor mysteries as how Ulick Burke cou...

McNally: The Battle of Aughrim 1691

My copy of this book arrived a few minutes ago, and I've got to say that from a initial skim through it really is superb. Some very nice maps, a handful of colour plates, plausible and well researched OOB. I think this book would be invaluable to any Wargamer with an interest in the period. I wish I...

What a superb blog. That's some impressive stuff you are creating there.

I've always had a soft spot for Montrose. My Granny used to claim she was a long-lost descendant of the great man. Whereas my Grandfather used to say she was "A daft auld mare!".

The P&SS chaps had both the Infantry and Cavalry books available in both hard and softback. So I am a very happy, if somewhat destitute, bunny :D

Thanks, Iain.

I didn't know about the Baccus CD's. I'd prefer to get an actual copy of the book, but it's great news that the P&SS have it back in stock.

If it has just come back into stock then I'll keep my fingers crossed that they have copies with them.

Thanks, Iain. I've been looking for a copy of Roberts book for some time. The Pike & Shot society were OOS last time I looked. They'll be at the Warfare show in Reading this weekend, so I'll check with them in person. Perhaps it will be reprinted. Thanks for your patience and apologies for all the q...

Q: De Lassay and De Montfort Regiments at Blenheim

Can anybody help me with uniform information regarding the above two regiments which fought at Blenheim? I'd assumed that De Lassay was a French regiment, but I've not been able to find it in any of the books I have. Perhaps it could be a German regiment in French service as it was commanded by the ...

I understand where you are coming, from Barry. It's just hard to figure how, when all other factors are equal (including luck), that more people firing could result in less casualties. For example: A drilled unit at short range (+3) will do the following casualties: Die Roll 2 Stands 3 Stands (-2) ....

I think this is an interesting mechanism. I'm not sure if harsh is the correct way to describe it, but the -2 modifier can frequently be worse than firing with one less stand. For example: If the final fire modifier = 9 (before the -2). Then - 2 stands @ 9 = 3 hits 3 stands @ 7 = 2 hits It's interes...
