Re: A few R2E questions

Greg, just saw this answers in sequence: 1. Charging units can't fire 2. Interpenetration causes disorder. A retreating unit is disordered anyway. If it bursts through or fails to clear the interpenetration of a friendly unit that friendly unit is disordered this phase and if the other player has ye...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

Clib will be twitching if you describe him as a genius.. he wears a hair shirt!! .. but I would agree with the description. The book log jam is finally cleared so here is the news: 1. Beneath the Lily Banners The War of Three Kings has gone to the printers. We will begin taking pre-orders on ...

Re: The Low Countries (What was the big fuss all about?)

Add in dynastic disputes, inherited lands, access to the North Sea, the riches of the the Low Countries commercial trade and stock markets, English interest, noisy neighbours, fertile soil and marijuana cafes and the picture is obvious I'd say..

Don't think the US Military has Field Marshals... but of course there are US Marshals. Maybe top rank should be J.Wayne?

Re: Donnybrook 1895

Well done on this Adam. I know Mr Harrison is working on Donnybrook right now with some new ideas we are bringing to the users. The good news is that we are finished The War of Three Kings and I am in dialogue with the printers now.

Re: The New age!

Thanks Stuart! You took the initiative whilst I and the whole Hilton Clan were (and still are) wiped out with the flu! I know we needed to modernize but as busy people not actually deriving our bread money from wargaming I just don't have enough time to deal with every burning building on the estate...

Re: Happy New Year 2018!

Yup, Happy 2018 to all members and visitors to the FT and the Blog! 2017 was a challenging year for many of us but hope springs eternal so let's hope we all have a safe and happy 2018. One thing for sure, I have resolved to play more wargames rather than demonstrate wargames this year.

Re: First appperance of Tricorns in military dress?

Some plates show Bavarians in tricornes as early as 1685ish. This is an old chestnut question that haunts the halls of the period. The pinning is just that, brim pinned up. Not very robust and probably the fashion of one, two or three sides was tried variously down the years. The formal tricornes wo...

Re: How to represent Russian Horse Grenadiers

He has designed a pretty large range of SYW, they have just never been released. I have seen them and in fact have a few of the castings which were delivered to me by accident. I have no idea what the range owner intends to do with them.... a mystery!
