Also suggest that some English Civil War figures can be used for Monmouth's troops as well as Royalist troops. Various British Army regimental websites can provide uniform details eg Kirke's lambs/Tangier Regiment

had a look in CA Sapherson's booklet on Swedish army 1688-1721 states the dragoons wore blue coats lined in lighter blue.Waistcoats and breeches were deep blue, wore red cravats and pale yellow lace loops on buttonholes of coats

is there an alternative spelling of the regt name eg Gyllenstiernas? as in Hoglund's Scanian War there is a colour illustration and description of the standard

just rec'd and had quick scan of this book, looks very useful, good illustrations of uniforms and flags ties in nicely with the earlier Russian Army in GNW, i do like this series

couldn't agree more, thinking about do lancer companies for dragoon regiments, what intrigued me was the issue and use/ none use of pikes within regts, definitely food for thought

recently recieved the above book, which i found extremely informative, great flag info and good uniform schematics, book ties in nicely with another Helion publication "Peter the Great Humbled", both titles recommended

I highly recommend the book, which has proved extremely useful in my own researches and I agree the book "Ungrateful Daughters" by Maureen Waller, very interesting C A Sapherson's booklet " The British Army of William III" has proved handy as a starting point, again this was first published in 1987,...

Book arrived !!!! had a quick flick through, Mark Allen colour plates are excellent as are the list of sources used, only thing i wasn't too happy with are the reconstruction photos of Royal Regiment of Dragoons, why on earth did they use a black background, detracts greatly from seeing details Look...

There's a very good review in Arquebusier from Pike & Shot Society, which persuaded me to buy the book, awaiting delivery from Amazon UK
