Re: Napoleon command base, 3rd mini...Maréchal Soult

This is why, as glamorous as they are, many miniatures companies have never bothered with them. Even at 1:20 you are never going to sell enough Mamelukes to justify the sculpting / moulding costs. The Perry's are probably the best bet for someone one day doing Mamelukes justice, (seeing as GW is the...

They look fantastic Günter!

I am amused by the huge stacks of bases 'in reserve' in the last picture

Re: Eureka 28mm Austrian Chevaulegers

The Russians captured a few Austrian cavalry standards in 1812, but interestingly they were all old Charles VI pattern flags which would have made them anything from around 70 to 100 years old! This could of course be just a case of regiments proudly retaining some ancient and treasured symbol, but ...

Re: Eureka 28mm Austrian Chevaulegers

Hello Dave From memory I think we made the decision not to include a standard bearer based mainly on the statement towards the back of Haythornthwaite's Osprey MaA on the Austrian cavalry where he says the Austrian heavy cavalry liked to carry their standards on campaign - but for the most part the ...

Re: SAGA double whammy

The cemetery on my blog is a mix of the two. http://davestoybox.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/wargames-butterfly.html That's a smart looking piece Dave. I like fiddling around with terrain and making my own, so much so I sometimes have to remind myself it's all pretty useless unless I stop and paint some ...

Re: SAGA double whammy

Lovely looking game Burkhard. ...with the rest of the guys it is... ..."a plain table and some pieces of felt is all I need". It surprises me how common this attitude is among miniatures gamers. I know not everyone is going to be able to play across some fantastically realistic looking piece of tabl...

I like it. Two blokes pointing in totally opposite directions and the chap in the middle pondering his choices.

Ahhh - the loneliness of command!

Just read your blog and I see this was the intended 'story'...

Re: First try at 20mm FJ

20mm WWII is one of my 'things' and these look great - although I might add that the final effect is best viewed at a realistic perspective for 20mm figures - like the multiple figure shots on your blog, rather than this blow up of an individual. Photographing smaller 15mm / 20mm figures close up an...

Very nice! Always fancied creating a Vandal force myself (might do it one day...). They certainly 'got around' a bit - so no shortage of opponents.
