EARLY WAR ITALIANS 28mm

Having just returned from Salute rather tempted by the Perry's plastic Eighth Army figures I am looking for potential Italian figures for the early war period. I see some greens on the Perry site but wonder if the rather nice figures that Paul Hicks did for Empress (Abyssinia) would also be suitable...

PERRY RUSSIANS PLASTIC & METAL

Has anybody any pictures of how the new Perry plastic Russians compare with
the older Perry-sculpted Foundry Russians ? I am wondering if I can use some of the metal command groups with the new Perry plastics?
Thanks

Re: Schlammersdorf 1632 reg.flags

Do you have any advice on printing out the flags ? What paper is best to use ? I am really not sure how permanent the inks are in the average ink jet printer. Maybe once they are varnished they are more long-lasting. Would welcome any advice from those who have used these wonderful lags. i am partic...

French Revolutionary War

Am finally falling to the temptation of the Eureka Revolutionary wars range but I would like to game it with a rather reduced figure scale (that's probably an increased scale in the sense of fewer figures per unit). - I don't want all the units at 32 and 36 castings looking much like the later Napol...

RUSSIAN CHASSEURS

One for the Russian Napoleonic experts. Have just bought some of the beautiful Victrix Chasseurs. Most are armed with muskets and I want to do a firing line unit. The command pack also contains four figures with what look like rifles of some kind. Would these be incorporated into the firing line (on ...

Beautiful unit and unusual too.
Front Rank ? I'm going to take a look at the Victrix plastics.
Maybe start with the Old Guard Chasseurs - will I be able to add in the odd Perry figure or are they different in size/build?

Thanks for that suggestion Marechal Ney. I will take another look at Elite, though i have always seen them as an old-style range very much in the Peter Gilder mode (no bad thing if you like that style). I was bemoaning the lack of a more modern or recent range in the Perry/Hicks/ Victrix sort of sty...

Really helpful - thanks. Just received the Hourtoulle book recommended in the Russia post below on Friedland and this confirms all of your points. It has nice uniform plates for all sides, including some of the smaller players. Shame there isn't a "modern" style range of early Prussians. The Foundry...

1807 French Uniforms

Eager to get some French to go with my Russians. I think that part of the interest is that this is a transitional period in terms of uniforms. Can the experts here advise me: (1) Would I be right to have some units in white uniforms? (2) Would some units be wearing the shako rather than the bicorne ...

I have seen the book in Russian on infantry by I think Ulyanov which is available on -ine.
Does anyone know if there are equivalent volumes available on-line for cavalry and artillery (with links).
The infantry book certainly has nice pictures.
