Re: Battle of Ramillies Black Powder refight

Just got around to sorting out a few more photos of the day. Great fun had by all and went in line with history. British, Hessen Kassel, and Danish foot holding up the right flank whilst transfering most of their cavalry to the left flank. This gave them an impressive 2 to 1 superiority over the Fre...

Multiple use Saxons (Ancients)

Hi. Have not put anything on here for a while but I have been busy. First off I will start with my first base of Saxons, these are the plastic Gripping Beast models. As you can see they have been mounted on pennies so can be used for a multitude of rules sets. They have been based on these as I inte...

Re: A WSS game from the Sunday Cake Club

Off the top of my head I think the French are GMB, the Danish are from Maverick Models, the Irish are Warflag, The Bavarians I don't know and others are to be found on the internet. Anything specific? I will try to sort out my photos this weekend. Suffering from shell shock at the moment from having...

British Napoleonic Big Stylee

So you’re sat at home bit of a cold (man flu) or recovering from something and you think you do with just one more project. Well I have been madly painting for the last 6 weeks a large number of Front Rank WSS cavalry (72 out of 90) and Foot and Guns (48 out of 90 infantry and 2 guns) for a large ga...

Danish Horse and Cuirass

Quick question, which is the best way to model Danes wearing Cuirass.

Under or over the coat?

Thanks

A WSS game from the Sunday Cake Club

Just a few pictures from our WSS game today. The allies were out numbered so had to go on the defensive to start with. French/Bavarians 22 Battalions 38 Squadrons. Allies 13 Battalions, 25 Squadrons. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll319/Darkman8117/100_1388.jpg http://i291.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: New project, Zulus, thousands of them

Hi I use a white undercoat, and try not to go over the bits I need to be white. I do tend to use white as an undercoat for anything I use for dipping unless there is a colour spray I can use as an undercoat. Some of the people on the Warlord forum suggest using Army Painter Leather Brown spray then ...

New project, Zulus, thousands of them

Ok not quite thousands, just a couple of boxes. Played a game of Black Powder the other week as a friend of mine discovered he had 3 file boxes of Zulus and a couple of boxes of British. It was an enjoyable game even though I umpired. So looking through ebay I noticed that there was a couple of boxe...

Raven Banner Bearer

Whilst painting various projects I have had some vikings on the go. You know that time when you squirt to much paint from the tube and you still have some left when finished. Well I have some sticks with vikings on at the back of the table on to which a dab a bit here and there. After a while it onl...

So what makes you paint your armies

So what motivates you in to painting an army then? I am not talking about adding more to the lead mountain, but actually sitting down and painting. A couple of us were having a discussion the other day as I had a Renegade Republican Army I bought in January 2010. But I needed a reason to paint it. I...

Teddy Bear fur and others

I posted this in another topic but thought that it would be better of with its own topic. Although not something I am working on I feel that it would be of benefit for people to see. Nothing to do with me but in the gallery section there are some great ideas especially the smoke and flames. http://w...
