Re: Major overhaul to LoA website

Link to Fighting talk seems to be missing from the front page of the site.

Great weekend, fun format, plenty of action, particularlyenjoyed being able to play against a variety of opponents over the weekend. Played 5, W2 D1 L2. Pretty fair overall I would say. And little dispute being heard across the tables either. This has certainly givenm me some ideas for a DH Vietnam ...

Blood and Swash , written by Buck Surdu. Multi period small scale skirmish rules. Work well for street / town fighting. Great if you wanted to play out the Sharpe's Peril skirmish in India as well. Dave, like many things , writing a set of Indian Mutiny rules is in that cupboard full of things to do...

I would second the FG Hourtelle series by Histoire & Collections. Great colour plates, well worth the value and available. "From Eylau to Friedland" was only published a few years ago so is a good modern reference book.

Frankly there's a gap in the market for good Indian Mutiny rules. I've tried most of them and settled last year on modifying the Warhammer Lgends of the Old West / Alamo rules. There's some information on them in my (almost dormant) website www.sharnydubs.com

Hope this helps

I'll look out my list of vehicles this weekend.

I don't think I've played Amercian before so would be happy to join alongside Dave O'Brien (depsite his duplicitous behaviour in our VBCW game!)

I really like these. You have the captured faces (and moustaches) and poses really well. They look natural and have that confident arrogance that so epitomises the paintings you see of the period. Well done.

Kings X is a great soldier shop if you are visiting San Antonio. They have a magnificent Delhi Durbar / India display and one of the widest ranges of toy soldiers I have seen anywhere. Unfortunately when I was visiting San Antonio this summer I made it to the shop just 15 minutes after it closed. Pr...

Thnaks Dale. Yes, Barry the issue of zone of control of a brigadier was contentious. As each "village / town" was effectively a 2 foot square the question was what was the zone of control for the brigadier within the town- was it a) the town tile i.e. the 2 foot square or b) the town tile and the 9"...
