As far as experience goes: FOW 1 game PBI 1 game (plus a bit of looing around games) To be honest I dont particularly like the PBI approach, altough I understand the reasoning behind it it just is not IT. Maybe what azeroth already mentioned the square movement and shooting gives it just a bit too m...

Anyone experience with Battlegroup Panzer Grenadier ?

Hi all, Altough a long time lurker and non poster I would like to ask you all a question regarding WW2 rules. As of now I have tried following: PBI2 FOW Rapid Fire IABSM Battlefront ww2 BlitzkriegCommander Any of the above have their up and downs. Most of all I find it hard to find a ruleset that ca...

Fashionable today ?

Hi all, In an effort to gain some insight to what is in fashion at the moment in wargaming country, can anyone in this forum give me some pointers ? I am particularly interested in combinations of scale/period/ruleset. So for example 15 years ago this could read: 25mm/Napoleonics/WRG Of course the m...

GREAT DIORAMA

Well his painting style might not be my cup o tea (much to clean) the whole diorama is expertly painted and posed. Very lifelike and I would say that his award list is very much deserved (and we are not talking awards of the local boyscout club either!!!!) Makes you think that no one would be so foo...

GHQ rules for 15mm figures

Hi Barry, Just 3 quick questions about the use of 15mm figures under the GHQ rules. Does it work straight from the book? Is it worth investing money in these rules compared to for example Dave Brown's battlegroup panzergrenadier or Flames of war rules ? Have you made any major chages to the GHQ rule...

Are you referring to Forgotten Soldier ?

If so John I would not know, but from what I have read it is the biography of the person himself. The whole book reads very authentic and even if it would not be his biography I would say that the person making it up must have been in some hotspots himself. But my money is on authentic. (last time I...

Forgotten Soldier book

Hi Barry, Just noticed your remark on the book. I have been finishing the book last summer holiday in France at temperatures soaring above 30 C. A very huge contrast to the circumstances these guys fought in. The most "disturbing" if you will, impression I got from the book was that my perception of...

Fast painting results

Well Barry, As always the paintjobs are excellent. Especially the battle worn look you manage on the figures is in my view a big part of the visual bombardment you are putting us through. How do you do it ? Eh well that is actually something I would like to ask you. Can you help me (us) mere mortals...
