From my current mountain top posting I'll stick my oar in for the Peninsula.

Purely as its the figures which i am currently collecting. :)

I think the battles would probably lend themselves to the 1 day games better.

Thanks Jim, They have been given a coat of vallejo matt, painted on, as I dont trust spray varnishes. I may give them another, although in the flesh they dont seem that shiny. Camera never lies though huh? :) I would have loved to get along but I'll be doing my other favourite thing on those dates, ...

Thanks guys, 2nd battalion under way, then its back to the brits to finish off Clintons 6th division at Salamanca. Also, French winning? Doesnt compute :) Campaign look, a bit dusty/bedraggled was the aim, I definitley don't think any armies would maintain the parade ground look on campaign. Althoug...

12th Portuguese Line

Literally just finished these These are the victrix metals which have succumbed to my ham fisted painting efforts. Decided on a final size of 28, 7 companies of 80(4 figures for R2E).Flag by the flag dude. They look much better from 3 feet away  http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj88/bpate0302...

Agree, some great shots of the game.

Although surely it should be the Retreat and Rout of the Guards? :)

Bob Thanks Bob, I have already 'told' the boss that I will be away for a weekend or maybe even 2 later in the year. There was mumbled a...

Had a great time for my first full game. In nominal command of the allies along with Dave. Lots of ebb and flow to the game.

Definetley be back for more, and hopefully one of the 2 day games later in the year.

Thanks again to everyone.

Cheers

Thanks for the response Clarence. I too have been bulding units 24 strong, but I'll need to do a bit more painting for the larger units as all the 6 regiments I have done at the moment have different coloured facings. More painting as ever :) The opposition for the 6th division at Salamanca seems to...

Now found the answer.

Both :)

From 1810 onwards white or light grey overalls/trousers were used for the summer uniform and dark blue for the winter uniform. Just in case anybody else needs the same info for future.

Cheers

Portuguese Infantry Uniform

Did the Portuguese change from white to grey breeches/trousers, and if so when? I have seen some plates which show white in 1806 and then grey in 1814. The figures I am painting are the victrix figures in stovepipe shako, so should they be grey or white. I am guessing that the change from barrettina...
