Re: Warfare Ottomans - Infantry started

I finally completed the first unit of these Janissaries (not Warfare figs, converted Perry Zouaves): https://myalbum.com/photo/BskVVplA3aJ4/540.jpg And first couple of bases of Warfare Miniatures Ottomans. https://myalbum.com/photo/7wNUWVuzwHJW/540.jpg These painted up nice and quick, I shall use a ...

Re: Flag Size

The Warfare Miniatures flags are available in three sizes, for example Russian Infantry: 30 x 30mm, 40 x 40mm and 50 x 50mm (I suspect that the first version is to scale but he larger ones look great!)

Re: Ottomans???

Has anyone worked out a Ottoman Turk army list for Donnybrook yet? I just used what figures I had available! Ottoman forces varied so much depending on where in the Empire they were and who they were expected to fight, that it is hard to go very wrong. https://wargamewarrior.webs.com/apps/blog/show...

Copenhagen Museum

I had a chance for a quick look around the Military Museum at the old Arsenal in Copenhagen last week. Most of the ground floor is a collection of cannon from medieval through to 20th century (with some real bigguns!) And a few armoured vehicles: https://myalbum.com/photo/vok9Fp3x9NI8/540.jpg Upstai...

It depends what you mean by period - century?
Just what it says on the front of the rules 1660-1760. We are using it for 130 years later...

Re: Danish Livgarden til Fods flag

Great clear information as usual! I picked up a book at the Army Museum in Stockholm last year about the infantry flags since 1686 by Leif Tornquist. It is a bit of a goldmine (although mainly in Swedish.) It would be great if they ever did one on all the foreign flags that they have in the museum t...

Done good there Adam! Nothing to be disappointed in - I think your work is very nice indeed!
Cheers. I noticed we have both gone for the same flag for an early Ottoman unit. Green and yellow, what football team is that? :)

Re: Donnybrook Period Variants

Hi there,

We are slowly modifying Donnybrook to use for our late 19th Century skirmish games (so well out of intended period!)

Re: Scruffy Infantry WIP

A quick snap of the first couple of bases of these great figures. (The sculpting not my painting!)

I will sort out a command base to go with these for Jacobite Irish next and after that a GNW Russian command base. I think these will work with both.
