There's a very good review in Arquebusier from Pike & Shot Society, which persuaded me to buy the book, awaiting delivery from Amazon UK

Interesting post, many thanks, although wondering if this book is a revised/updated version of the author's original booklet "The Army of James II, Uniforms & Organisation" published by Partizan Press in 1987 and revised edition in 2001 Also if the plates are by Mark Allen are they again revised/upd...

Another main function of fusiliers was to prevent the civilian drivers legging it with the horses at first sign of danger Have a feeling that RWF/23rd didn't receive their Colours until after WSS, but i could be wrong, RWF did fight as a battalion at Blenheim Still awaiting answers from RWF archivis...

My pleasure, I have found that researching early history of regiments from 1660s to 1720s many records were not kept, lost, hidden away in family and regimental archives

Try Pike and Shot Society website, they stock Robert Hall plates,also see Charles Grant's book Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars, this is the updated book of "From Pike to Shot" Sapherson & Edition Brokaw booklets may help for basic details not sure what you meant by "flawed" cheers Old John

have just rec'd the book from Amazon, very pleased with it, good value, I too prefer books mostly due to my age :-)) as a bit of a technophobe, eyes can't cope with long periods on computer screens
