I think some of you are missing the point i'm trying to make, just because your going over farm fields and such, the pace can be respectable and reasonable controled by NCO's. Yet not moving at snails pace. Just using rough data: 6lb culverin, flat lvl trajectory 240m max 2400m so in game terms, 36i...

Re: New movement distances

Hi Steve, so if both sides infantry advance 4" per turn then you'll be firing at each other by the end of movement on turn 3. http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg135/07samurai/Churchill.jpg Yes but that is as you say with both sides moving to contact, an ideal situation for a turn 3 musket range a...

Infantry moving at 6 or 8 inches is too fast for this period. You would not be fighting the League of Augsburg / Grand Alliance / Spanish Succession Wars. You'll be fighting the Seven Years War. I fail to see that as a valid argument that 4" is WSS while 6" is 7YW. Just like i support the ramdom di...

I see 8 x 4 tables mentioned alot in this thread yet many of us have larger tables and the scenarios from the rulebook recommend 8 x 6 & 6 x 10 tables. So i think looking at it from only an 8 x 4 perspective is limiting. I'm not looking for a decisive moment in the battle not in 4 turns, but i'm wan...

Not being privy to the new rules i have a question, is the above example with 2 lines moving towards each other or only one line advancing? I play on a 9 x 5 table and spending 5-7 turns closing with the infantry while cavalry fights on the flanks eat up the game time can be frustrating. Regards Steve

Good point Edward I'm currently serving as the SD&G Highrs Ops O, who trace there lineage to the Glengary Fencibles of 1812 fame. One point i brought up to my Simcoe friend was the changes to the requirements post WW1 which eliminated the practice of granting Honours to Regiments that had several me...
