Oh dearie dearie me, My last four rules purchases have been Beneath the Lily Banners, Foundry's Napoleon, Black Powder and Republic to Empire. The first three I have read cover to cover and I am about half way through RtE. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of them. I admit to being a sucker for well p...

Has anyone come accross an index to the old copies of WI? I purchased the entire set on CD but it is a bit of hit and miss trying to find articles on flags and uniforms for the period covered by BtLB. I did track down Barry's list of articles but could do with an index of the rest.

Regards,

Jim

I play FoW but, about 80% of this month's magazine was devoted to the subject and I sincerely hope that this will be the exception rather than the rule. If the magazine becomes unbalanced, it will gradually lose support unless Battlefront Miniatures wish to go the way of Games Workshop and start ope...

Cranky Scotsmen

Gentlemen. I've just read Barry's article in the latest issue of WARGAMES Illustrated on the various PitAs encountered throught his wargaming life. It should be set as recommended reading. It also contains a photo of the man himself posing with arms extended in supplication as in some of the early ...

Gentlemen, Once again thank you for your replies. Although I am a reasonably experienced painter and modeller, I want this lot to be as good as I can make it and will no doubt continue to harvest your brains for all the good ideas. BTW, experienced does not equate to being good but I am going to tr...

Barry, When I returned from work yesterday (Friday), it was waiting for me. Considering that you only posted it on Thursday, it seems that I was wrong and my postman's parents were married after all. On opening the envelope, the first thing I noticed was the new book smell. If you get your nose rig...

Gentlemen, I wish you all a great weekend. Whilst you are busy repelling hordes of revolting natives with your stiff upper lip British wallahs, spare a thought for the old man who will be taking his wee boys out Christmas shopping on Saturday and hoping that, by the time he gets home, his copy of R...

Barry, I've just ordered the French "deal" complete with the thousands of wee counters. Should, at a later stage, I wish to order a set for British or Austrians will there be a similar deal on the counters alone? Can I also be cheeky and suggest that the yellow counters would be more appropriate fo...

Ray, I already have the Osprey and will source the other. Thank you. I am going to go with your basing for foote will probably also mount my horse on 50mm x 50mm in twos. This will give some cohesion to my force and accommodate the larger figures. The next question is whether I use Reiver Bob's pla...

Dave,

What rules were used in this game? The attention to detail in the scenery is astounding.

Churchill, I am just starting in this period and your images are an inspiration. I like the idea of how you have taken a bite sized chunk of history (British at Blenheim) and researched it thoroughly. I am looking at doing a French army and will probably start off with the Irish regiments in French...
