Re: BLB3 in 6mm

Someone asked this on FB recently (maybe that was you)...

The main difficulty will be representing units in Column of March... You can probably get away with turning the unit 90-degrees, but you need a way to designate which end is the front!

Other than that, what Hilton said...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

The default number of couriers is one per C-in-C as it is unlikely you would need to change all of your elements’ orders in one turn! You could certainly adjust this to fit your own table...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

Couriers are a rule for changing orders in multi-player games. For instance, your initial battle plan as the C=in=C called for your right wing to hold a strategic position at all costs. Rules as written means the player for that command should defend his area. As the battle unfolds, the C-in-C disco...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

We recommend a typical table top force has a single unit of converged grenadiers, but certain scenarios or battles may account for more. It may depend on the theater or specific army as well as the tactic was not always employed. There's a discussion of grenadier battalions somewhere on this forum t...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

There is only one scenario in the main book. The Aughrim uniform guides will be out next and the scenario books hopefully by Summer. I'll pick a handful to preview over the next few months. There are a few presented on the blog already as playtests... Dundalk Camp River Foyle ...and the Battle of Pe...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

We have about 50 scenarios in Ireland just for 1689 , designed for BLB and Donnybrook, based on historical engagements. Similar lists are being worked up for 1690+. Barry has done a ton of work in this area, as well as unit information and uniform guides. I understand your reticence, but when we’re ...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

I would just use what looks right in the space. Barry’s BLB units often have more than six 28mm models on a base with extra officers, etc. you can even get away with less by using bits of terrain to set a scene - a unit defending a wall for example. I don’t have any 10mm models so I can really give ...

Re: More Donnybrook Dark

Thanks, Adam! I applied Woodland Scenics Flex Paste with a scrap of balsa in dollups and then used a toothpick to 'feather' it out for a more natural appearance. Immediately after, I sprinkled Woodland Scenics Soft Flake Snow over the base and dumped the excess - it just sticks to - paste. The effec...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

1. You play with 15mm models easily by substituting all measurements in the book... simply replace inches for movement and shooting with cm. I would do the same with 10mm, using the 15mm scale bases, but just include more figures on a stand. Basing is not prescriptive - just use what is aestheticall...

Re: A few questions on BLB3

1. The main rules cover Ireland and the Western European theater. The GNW and Eastern Europe will be covered in a supplement. However, 90% of what you need is still in The War of Three Kings and you should be able to run games for the GNW (Barry has). 2. There is a sample game with two small armies ...

Re: The New age!

Very cool... I had the same issues with our old blog. Updates to the software platform made some of the coding useless. Onward and upward!
