Sorry to threadjack a little bit, but are you using the 3mm Litko bases for your figures, Clarence? I've got a box of Perry French at home and am looking at getting ahold of some Victrix figs are well and have been thinking about basing. The 3mm thick ones wouldn't look bad with the 28mm figures, wo...

You can try emailing Matt DeLaMater and see if he knows how you might get ahold of it. PM me for an email address if you like. Otherwise you could try contacting Napoleon Journal and see what they have to say... they are still selling some back issues. http://www.napoleon-journal.com/ Hope this help...

Thanks Barry,

That makes sense. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything else.

Question on Command Radii

I received my copy of the rules in the mail last week and have spent as much free time as possible pouring over them. I have a quick question regarding command radii. The rules state on page 32 that all units of a brigade must attempt to remain within the brigadier's command radius of nine inches. W...

Greetings all, Received a few books on the Eben Emael operation, "The Thirty Years War: Europe's Tragedy" and a respite from buying gifts for others which enabled me to finally purchase my copy of Republic to Empire from here. :D Looking forward to that showing up on my doorstep sooner or later. Che...

Heh... this can't be a proper Napoleonic wargaming forum without at least one controversy over minutiae raging at any given moment. I was just doing my part. 8)

I had no issues with the lancer in Spain either for that matter. If Clarence sees fit to change it, then that's his prerogative, and if he decides not to, then so be it. It's artwork, not a PhD thesis.

Or maybe our lancer spent some francs getting some upgraded trousers... hardly would be the first time a French soldier deviated from the regulations. Call it artistic license if you will... while it may not follow the authorized uniform 100%, the knotwork adds to the 'overall' look of the cover. 8)

In the end, I don't think it's any more idiotic than taking turns to move, knowing that the enemy cavalry can charge exactly 24", etc. Fair points. I guess I prefer the way the TFL rules handle the random activations, where not everyone gets to move, but if the end of turn card is flipped, everyone...

If card-driven games are your thing, La Feu Sacre from Too Fat Lardies would be something to check out for the Napoleonic era. There are other sets out there as well. Card driven games can be interesting, but for me they can be very gimmicky. I played a few games of the original Piquet, and while I ...

Basing for RtE

After re-reading Barry's extract about basing for RtE I'm in a bit of a quandry. Barry mentions that he's basing his French on 8 figure bases for a nominal 32 figure average battalion size. At 1:20 this represents a somewhat understrength battalion, which would be expected for any unit on campaign. ...

Thanks for the reply Barry. I was sure work was being done on the rules... just wasn't sure how far along rules development was and if you had an anticipated release timeframe or not. I've already made the decision to start building 28mm Napoleonics at 1:20. Now I'm just looking at rules. I already ...

RtE Update?

Time passes, and I continue to collect 28mm Napoleonics, paint, books, etc. All I need now is the perfect set of rules... oh, and to actually paint the lead & plastic I've got.

So, it's time for the recurring whine: Any update on the status of RtE? Enquiring minds want to know. :D
