Re: A Gaming Discussion - rules like Maurice

Basing etc would be unaffected but I foresee even more period nuance possible. The whole thing is not a pipe dream but is pretty imminent. Clearly not for everyone but those interested in small actions.. Ireland, Jacobite Rebellions, Sedgemoor, Tangier, such as the delaying action at Walcourt befor...

Re: The Boyne and its leaders - question??

Advice:
Rule #one: Look Cool
Rule #two: Know what you are doing.

If you don't know what you are doing refer to Rule #one: Look Cool

Re: British Army in the Nine Years war

I borrowed this book a few times from the RMC Library in Kingston. Gives a good description of how warfare was conducted in Flanders during the Nine Years War. One of the few books that has narratives of the big four for the Confederate Army: Walcourt, Steenkerque, Neerwinden and Namur. cheers Edward

Re: Blenheim OOB

I haven’t read of the example of this massive hollow square moving and I very much doubt it succeeded. It was hard enough to get a battalion to move in line, let alone get them to move in square. Hello Ray I found this interesting ref in Padraig Lenihan's '1690 Battle of the Boyne' using the battle ...

Re: Blenheim OOB

Hello Ray, Now that you have most of the British built up for Blenheim Village, what about the French. I just recently reread Spenser's 'Battle for Europe' about Blenheim and got me thinking of a possible idea for a Blenheim Village scenario. A French Breakout. As history teaches us the French Regim...
